Update May 28: Youth leagues to start June 5, 2021

Club News

The KNBSB is pleased to announce that the Cabinet announced during a press conference on Friday evening, May 28, that the youth competitions may start as of June 5. This brings an end to a long period of waiting. Baseball and softball season 2021 can finally start! And there was more good news for the sport.

The announced relaxations for the sport as of June 5 are in outline:

  • Youth leagues may start. Matches between youth teams from different clubs are allowed.
  • All athletes are allowed to train normally without restrictions (indoors and outdoors). So even athletes aged 27 years and older can fully return to work. Of course, outside of sports, the nationally applicable coronation measures must be respected.
  • Sports canteens may again be open from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. The same rules apply as for sports canteens. The same rules apply as for the catering industry, such as a maximum of fifty people and fixed seating.
  • Showers and changing rooms may be opened again.

In the coming days we will study the details of the announced relaxations. It is possible that there will be additions to the main points above. Therefore, please keep an eye on our website.
